South Scotland - Sightseeing
Burns National Heritage Park
Scotland's most famous poet spent his last years in Dumfries, which houses the Robert Burns Centre, but he was born just to the north in Alloway in 1759. Follow Burns' story, starting at the cottage in which he was born and moving on to the museum, which exhibits a world-class collection of his letters and manuscripts. Walk over the Brig O'Doon and climb the Burns Monument to see Ayrshire spread out below. Top off the visit with the audiovisual presentation of Rabbie's most famous poem at the Tam O'Shanter Experience.
